Life Reflections
Breonca Moena Thames, affectionately
known as “Bre, Blonka, Benoncye,
Moena, Buronca” entered into eternal
rest on January 12, 2024, in Lake City,
South Carolina after a short illness. She
was born on June 30, 1992, in White
Plain, New York to Sebrena Thames
and Lewis Jerome Athen.
Breonca was raised in her younger days in New York and
as a teenager moved to the Carolinas with her mom. She
received her education in the public schools of Mecklenburg
and Florence County. She was a proud graduate of the
Lake City High School. Breonca was employed in customer
service, for many years until her untimely passing.
All throughout the years of her life, she loved to dance,
and cheerleading and was good at it. She absolutely loved
her family, and her family absolutely loved her. She made
a mark on everyone that she came in contact with. She will
forever be remembered by her smile and bright, loving eyes.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Sebrenda
Thames McClain; her father, Lewis Jerome Athen; six
sisters: Ebonee Jones, Desjah Jones, Shaina Durant,
Shamitell Davis, Lashonda Piggett, and Jamonica Athen;
one brother, Dominique Williams; grandmothers: Mary
Singletary, and Patricia Johnson; grandfather: Roosevelt
Thames Sr; four special and dear friends: Jasmine Graham,
Carrie Caldwell, Erika Wallace, and Lydia Houston; and
a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends that she adored.
