Obituary
Mrs. Edith Smith was born on April 19, 1957, to the late James Samuel McCrea and Lou Esther Brockington McCrea. She transitioned from this earthly realm into eternity on Friday, September 29, 2023, at her home.
Edith was educated in the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was joined into holy matrimony to Mr. Samuel D. Smith and this union was blessed with four children Samantha, Frances, Kenneth, and Devin. Edith was formerly employed at Baxter Laboratory in Kingstree, SC for 17 years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruther Lee Kinder and Betty Morris, and two brothers: Monroe McCrea and Willie James McCrea.
Mrs. Edith Smith leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Samuel D. Smith of the home; two daughters, Samantha Epps of Lake City, SC, Frances (Leverne) Gamble of Kingstree, SC; Two sons, Kenneth Epps and Devin Epps both of Florence, SC; three grandchildren; Anguan Gamble and Katelynn Gamble of Kingstree, SC, and Kairo Goodman of Florence, SC; four sisters, Pattie Madison, Willie Mae Adams and Mary Lee Williams of Kingstree, SC; Willie Ann (Larry) Hannah of Florence, SC; two brothers, Nathan "Jimmy" McCrea and Roosevelt (Geraldine) McCrea of Kingstree, SC along with a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives and friends.
