Roy “Chester” Barr, whom we affectionately called “Roy” departed from his earthly life on October 5, 2023, at Henry Piedmont Hospital in Stockbridge, GA after a long illness.
Roy was born on December 17, 1955, to the late Randolph and Annie Rae Barr in Florence County, South Carolina.
Roy attended the public schools of Florence County Schools District Three. He was employed with Ragsdale for 11 years in South Carolina before relocating to Georgia where he was employed in maintenance with Mt. Zion Apartments for over 14 years until his health declined. Roy was a very fun, outgoing, talkative and love his family man. He enjoyed his wife, his children, and great dining! Family was always his number one priority.
Roy was proceeded in death by his parents Randolph and Annie Rae Barr; Four Sisters: Mircam Cooper, Margie Barr, Willie Mae Campbell, and Mae Francis Gregg; three brothers, Randolph (Track) Barr, Julius Doward Ellis (Billy) and Cecil Barr.
Roy, was joined in holy matrimony to Lynnette Barr for 36 faithful years (May 30th 1987), in this union three beautiful children were bless two daughters, LaNisha (Adia) Baumann, Jeirnear (Geravius “Shun”) Williams and one caring Son Julious Barr, One surviving brother Felton Green of Winton Salem, NC, Three surviving brother in laws, James Cooper of Scranton, SC, Waymond “Snooksie”Julious of Greensboro, GA, and Joseph “Sean” (Katika) Julious of Los Vegas, NA. and a loving mother in law Gladys Julius of Greensboro, GA, A special cousin Angela Mcfadden of Lake City, South Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, family, and lots of friends.
